The 2026 election will see new ward boundaries take effect. This extends Ward One, previously known as West Kent, to become South West Kent. The new Ward stretches from Wheatley to Charing Cross Road, and includes new communities like North and South Buxton, and Dealtown.

Melissa is well suited to represent this newly expanded area. She lives with her family near Prairie Siding (part of the new ward boundary area), and appreciates the communities that are included in the new ward boundary. Her children have fond memories of attending the Buxton summer camp at the Buxton National Historic Site and Museum.
